Let’s start with a quick refresher on the First Amendment. (Presumably one that the Founding Fathers thought was really important since it is … first.)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Seems pretty clear, right? Not so fast, says the Dotard in Chief:
“We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts,” Trump said.
Of course it must be pointed out that—in addition to the fact that the only amendment Trump really cares about is the one that allows his crazed followers to tote around AR-15s—this is really rich coming from the biggest serial liar in the history of the world, who, by the way, has been in a week-long rage over the release of a certain tell-all book.
