During the march I heard someone say “last year it was like a funeral.” I wasn’t there last year but this was a festive march, a celebration, almost Woodstockian. One of the greatest things was seeing lots and lots and lots of homemade creativity, peoples’ personal statements of what’s happening to our country today: funny, cynical, pleading, anguished, etc. Here are just a few of some of the wonderful signs I saw while marching:
I didn’t have time to make a poster before the parade, but I bought a couple of Sharpies with me just in case I had an opportunity to come up with one of my own. I luckily came across a discarded sign and went to work on its obverse; not exactly my greatest achievement in graphic design, but it got the message across, and judging from the number of people who took pictures of me holding it, folks liked it.
By the way, I was way too busy finishing writing my book ( www.furrynation.com ) at the end of 2016 so I wasn’t able to help Hillary’s campaign; this fall however I’ll go wherever I’m needed most to help register voters because, God willing, we are going to make sure the US regains its sanity!
