I was able to attend the Women’s March, set for 12:00-2:00, I was able to make the three block march to the YWCA where the rest of the demonstration was going to take place. Unfortunately, the hour of standing and the walk took it’s toll on my knees and we didn’t stay for the second half.
I estimate that there were about 1000 people in attendance, not bad for a town of 50K, comes out to about 1% of the town! Everyone was nice and peaceful, There weren’t any trouble makers and the spirits were high. It was nice to meet some like-thinking people for a change.
Haven’t done this before, but I’m going to see if I can add another picture or two to this diary:
Nice, it worked!
The weather was great for January, upper 30’s and wind under 15mph so the wind chill wasn’t too bad. Bright sunshine and the big, blue Montana sky!
So I finally got off my dead butt, sitting here typing away my anger and got to mingle will fellow progressives. It felt good.
There were so many great signs there, I think this was a good one. I felt kind of low on the pole because I had to write one out with a sharpie on good
old card board. I didn’t even have a stick for it. They stacked all of the signs along the wall of the YWCA to take pictures, I should have worked my way in for a picture, but for the knees.
I’ll be a bit more ready next time and I am sure, there will be a next time!
