So apparently there’s a guy teaching high school in Pico Rivera, California, who doesn’t think much of the folks who join the military.

I didn’t get this from Fauxxe Noizze. I got it at the Greater Good site, where I visit periodically to donate (via click) to several causes I care about.
In the video, Salcido questioned the military's ability to succeed in its ongoing operations in the Middle East, saying, "We all have night-vision goggles, all that kind of stuff, and we can’t freakin’ control these dudes wearing freakin’ robes and chanclas [flip-flops] because we have a bunch of dumbshits over there." Salcido also referred to military actions during the Vietnam War as fighting a "bunch of people this freakin’ big throwing rice at us.” He questioned why the school would allow the military to recruit students, saying, "I don’t understand why we let the freakin’ military guys come over here and recruit you at school. We don’t have pimps come into school. Anyone interested in being a ho [whore]?"[12] According to the student who made the video, Salcido has a history of making anti-military statements.[13]
This is not the first time El Rancho High School Teacher Gregory Salcido has been in the news for unprofessional behavior. The teacher, who’s also a city council member, took his dislike of the US Military and its members out on a student who showed up in a USMC sweatshirt last Friday.
In July 2010, Salcido was reprimanded and placed on administrative leave after a parent complained about Salcido's conduct in the classroom.[6] A parent alleged that his 16-year-old daughter had been threatened by Salcido and that Salcido had made inappropriate insulting comments about race, other students and parents.[4] One student complained that Salcido had said, "Shut up, Kelly, before I kill you."[4][6]
Student phone videos of the recent anti-military remarks have now appeared on Facebook and other social media, and the teacher, who was previously accused of physically striking a student and of other misconduct, can be heard here:

Now, as a US Air Force veteran, I’m sworn to uphold the entire Constitution — nobody’s told me I’m absolved from that oath.
I don’t know many vets who aren’t anti-war.
But this guy in California … well, the First Amendment says I have the right to speak up because I disagree with his perspective, so I am. Salcido says Donald Trump’s statements about the military are lies. Well, yeah — like all Trump’s statements, on any subject you care to address — but that’s no reason to denigrate people who are, in fact, serving our country.
“a bunch of people this big throwing rice at us” is so far from what was happening in Viet Nam it isn’t even wrong. Ask John Kerry. Ask Max Cleland. And if he’s so sure “we can’t freakin’ control these dudes wearing freakin’ robes and chanclas [flip-flops] because we have a bunch of dumbshits over there” maybe he needs to join up and improve the quality of leadership on the scene.
