Dad got back a few hours ago from his MRI. He has a torn rotator cuff. Took him 4 days to get that appointment after the initial assessment, and the doc saying "lets get an MRI just to be sure." Dad will have surgery in 9 days by the dude that does the surgery for most of the athletes at the University of Evansville.
I say this because as the right would like you to think, it takes months to get service. Nope.
Almost five years to this month mom got sick. Very sick. There was a helicopter involved. 30 days in the ICU, single room. Three surgeries. Two weeks rehab.
It is at this point I note my father worked 35+ years in civil service for the Federal government. Assume he has the same health care Congress members have and their family members .....
I recall sitting at my kitchen table a year or so later, asking dad what they had to pay for mom's medical care. Dad said he guesses a billing issue, they paid .19 cents. Should have been zero.
I threw something across the room .....
Went to get my bill. And it is BETTER UNDER ACA and he is like this is what you pay (I work for myself). I am like yes. For many years I was the dude that worked for a private firm that had the best of the best health care. Now, buy it on the open market. It ain’t cheap.
The right would like to say the government can't provide health care. Well I will take what my dad and mom have. Or your local Congress person.
