What I find curious about this story in The Independent is that is is written as if this is a past event. I am sitting here at home watching Nancy on Cspan right now, she has not given up the floor.
www.independent.co.uk/…
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has conducted a rare House “filibuster” to try and force Republicans to bring up an immigration bill in the chamber.
Ms Pelosi stood in the House chambers Wednesday to defend so-called Dreamers — undocumented immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children — saying that Democrats would oppose any funding bill unless House Speaker Paul Ryan agrees to bring a bipartisan immigration bill to the House floor for a vote.
In doing so, she ended up speaking longer than any State of the Union in history.
Hopefully someone will do a better story but this is not in the past yet. Turn on Cspan (on my cable it’s Cspan1 of 3) to hear Ms Pelosi reading stories of Dreamers. Her voice is a little rough but holding out. Hope someone gets her some warm lemon juice in water.
At 2:16 pm CST this is a live feed:
If you tweet, support Ms Pelosi’s efforts.
If you call, support this just cause.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi began speaking on the House floor at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday.
And she hasn't stopped.
The California Democrat followed her surprise announcement that she would oppose a budget deal to avert a government shutdown with a talk-a-thon to protest congressional inaction on legislation to protect DREAMers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States when they children.

Nearly six hours into her occupation of the floor, Pelosi read a statement that said House Republicans intent to hold votes just as soon as Pelosi yields back.
"Well, I have no intention of yielding back, Mr. Speaker," she said.
