Hello, writers. I’m afraid I’m not up to much this evening, having had nine (9) hours of surgery yesterday for skin cancer. This skin cancer is apparently the very epitome of no big deal, and I’m completely expected to survive, although it doesn’t feel like it at the moment. Without getting into all the gory details, I have one eye swollen shut which makes it a little hard to focus on the screen here, and I feel like I’ve been walked over by an army of trolls.
I’m not really up to typing a diary tonight, but I want to share with you this quote from one of Donald Maass’s books about writing:
We turn to stories to discover what we can become, and how that feels.
Do you think this is true in general, and do you think it applies to the kind of writing that you do?
Write On! will be a regular weekly diary (Thursdays 8 pm Eastern Time, 5 pm Pacific) until it isn't.
