So, which is it? Do I leave my computer on all the time? Or do I turn it off when I leave it? Or some variation? What’s the latest protocols and recommendations? I’m no expert nor are most of us. Our computers are a tool we use, much like our cars, technology changes and/or dictates what’s best for getting the best performance out of our tools.
I have the security packages etc. but that doesn’t stop everything automatically. I can sit down in front of my computer and get online and sometimes it flies. Other times I get on and it takes forever, but then when I restart my computer it performs better. So, should I always turn it off when I walk away? Does it matter? Or should I just restart it periodically? Inquiring minds want to know.
I’ve had a personal computer for over 20 years and the advice and standards have never been consistent. I expect we will get a variety of suggestions today, but hopefully we all will gain some knowledge. And with all knowledge, we’ll apply it where we need it. Taking into account the breadth of what’s recommended.
As the name of a knew show this past TV season, what we’re looking for is; The Wisdom of the Crowd.
