Received this e-mail today from VoteVets in support of U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s (D. WI) re-election campaign:
The Koch brothers are attacking Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin in the absolute most appalling and disgraceful way.
So we're stepping up to have her back.
Right now, the Koch brothers-backed Concerned Veterans for America are spending an astronomical $1.5 million in ads attacking Tammy Baldwin, blaming her for the death of a veteran in a Wisconsin VA facility.
But here's the truth: the ad doesn't mention the name of the veteran who died. Why? Because Tammy Baldwin passed a bill to strengthen opioid guidelines with the full support of his parents and widow. The bill even has his name on it, and his father said he was "grateful to Senator Baldwin and her staff for their tireless work on this reform."
So yes, we're going to have Tammy Baldwin's back. But we can't do it alone:
Watch our ad standing up for Tammy Baldwin and her tireless support of veterans and chip in $3 to help us keep up the fight against the Koch-connected Concerned Veterans for America.
We are actually spending $1 million on this ad buy, because the truth is while we will never be able to outspend the Koch brothers, we cannot let these bogus, shameful, and disgraceful charges go unanswered.
All my best,
Jon Soltz
