Yeah, Trump. This will really show MS-13.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement plans to deport an undocumented man from Mexico whose child is battling cancer.
The child, Jayden, is pictured. His father, Jesus Berrones, was brought over here from Mexico when he was just a year old. He was supposed to be deported in 2016, but was granted a stay due to his son’s illness. This practice was commonplace, until Trump:
Last year, under the new Trump administration, Berrones went to ICE to refile a stay, and officials told him it was not necessary because he was no longer a deportation priority, Wilkes said. But in January, Berrones got a notice from ICE that he would be deported. The lawyer filed another request for a stay, but it was recently denied.
Berrones is the family’s sole breadwinner—and his son is undergoing chemotherapy.
What kind of f***ing monster thinks this is OK? How is this keeping us safe?
If anything, blocking DACA is keeping us less safe because it is already completely clogging immigration enforcement. It was no coincidence that right after Obama created DACA that ICE was able to deport a record number of convicted criminals. ICE was able to use their resources to go after the “bad guys”. Unfortunately, this new batch of officers hired under Trump don’t give a damn who the “bad guys” are, and are letting them enjoy quite a reprieve since it’s so much easier to find and deport law-abiding families and innocent children.
At one time, it was the IRS that was the most hated government agency in America with many calling for it to be abolished. These days, the IRS has nothing on ICE, which has turned itself into a gestapo.
I really wish I could make Trump empathize about the plight of the young man suffering in this picture. Unfortunately for Jayden, he’s not a grown, white male who has ever brutalized a young woman.
