You might well have heard that those two crazy lovebirds Jared and Ivanka have some financial issues, as almost all young couples do. Well, it appears to be getting worse, and they aren't getting younger.
It has been well-established for quite some time that Jared Kushner's deal for the building at 666 5th Avenue was purchased with possibly "the worst financing package ever" and for those of you who would think that things might get better having your father in-law as president, I have news for you.
No, at least not “on paper.”
According to The Hil, "Jarvanka's" debt has increased, and not by a little, with some estimates somewhere in the 9 figure territory. It appears that Washington DC has proven expensive for our young couple, and Kush, being the provider he is, had to take out 3 lines of credit just to - you know, keep up?
An update to Ivanka Trump’s financial disclosure report reveals that she and her husband, Jared Kushner, have taken on millions of dollars in additional debt over the past year, Politico reported Tuesday.
The changes up the couple’s debts from a range of $19 million to $98 million to being valued at between $31 million and $155 million, according to Politico.
Ok, well, I suppose we would be deeply concerned had his debt gotten significantly better over the course of just one year, wouldn't we?
Jared took out the lines of credit during his initial days in the White House. One wonders if Jared and Ivanka have a really really nice "exit strategy," such that they aren't all that worried about taking on "new debt" while doing some public service? Like if Jared somehow just sort of "knew" that his work in the White House would be substantially rewarded upon leaving, perhaps he would have less trouble sleeping with those lines of credit hanging over them?
I wonder if this could possibly relate to why Jared needed that "secure from American law enforcement" back channel that he sought out at the Russian embassy?
It is entirely possible that this is all just fine, that our couple has just hit a rough patch. But it wouldn't be the first time that a government official dramatically increased his or her "spending" while handling the most sensitive secrets our nation possesses. The FBI has a lot of files on others that have done the same thing.
It sure explains why some would be extremely cautious about giving Jared a security clearance.
