This diary is really, really short but I think the info at least could be passed around to every area where students are signing up or thinking about the April 20th Student Walk Out (19th anniversary of Columbine — who knows where the time goes?). Or any other protest re: guns for that matter.
Here is a handy link to State by State voter registration age requirements. Put that link on your twitter machines and FB pages. Encourage these young, brave students to GOTV — ask their local registrar how to get forms and how to file them.
At the two Women’s Marches in NYC there were young people (and not so young) asking if people were registered. This past January’s march was terrific — I must have passed at least 100 friendly folks of all ages with registration forms. I happily said I had been registered for over 40 years. Some then asked if I had changed my name or address. These folks were spot on ready.
Help our young, vulnerable citizens to work towards a safer country — less fear in going to school. The students from FL are speaking for the children from Sandy Hook who were too young to have a voice.
Gun manufacturers are not people too, my friend.
Thank you.
