Sometime last night, Twitter apparently locked up or deleted thousands of accounts, presumably bots, resulting in people like Richard Spencer and Scott Presler losing thousands of followers. There’s a story on Gizmodo, saying that Twitter has not yet made a public statement, but most of what’s being said is being said on Twitter itself. Hashtag: #TwitterLockOut.
Looks like if your account got locked, you had to phone in for a security code.
However he’s back up to 48.1 million as of this writing, so I guess the bot factories are quick at recoveries at least for him.
Lots of them are whining about censorship and how their free speech rights are being violated. They apparently don’t know that censorship only refers to government restriction of free speech, and the First Amendment doesn’t protect them from consequences in interactions with private businesses like Twitter. Or...

I’m not seeing a lot of complaints from liberals about losing thousands of followers, though. If I lost any myself, it’s a handful.
