The NRA sent out Dana Loesch yesterday to a CNN town hall, and she lied repeatedly in an effort to appear conciliatory. She is singing a very different tune today at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
"Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it," Loesch said. "Now, I'm not saying that you love the tragedy. But I am saying that you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you and many in the legacy media." — www.politico.com/...

CPAC is the largest Republican conference in the country. The speakers include Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Marion Marechal-Le Pen, Ryan Zinke and virtually everyone who’s anyone in Republican circles.
With the CNN townhall and this gathering back-to-back, the NRA is showing us its standard playbook. Send out someone to appear somewhat rational in public after a mass shooting. Then when you’re speaking to Republican politicians who have received enough blood money to support your pro-massacre agenda, blame everyone else and put on the pressure to keep up gun sales.
The NRA is a duplicitous organization that routinely lies about its role in undermining every effort at reasonable gun control/safety. Loesch said the NRA supports a ban on bump stocks, but their policy is quite a bit a lot weaker.
Peter “Jay” Printz (a former Montana sheriff) who was the lead plaintiff in this case (related to the Brady Bill) has been on the board of the NRA from 1998.
NRA leader Wayne LaPierre issued his first response to the Parkland school shooting, rejecting any new gun safety measures and saying gun reform advocates ‘hate individual freedom’ — @nowthisnews
The NRA’s sole agenda is to increase the sale and availability of guns in this country. To do this, they will deflect attention anywhere and everywhere. They’ve focused on various ineffective measures. Meanwhile, gun violence and mass shootings in America continue unabated, this is largely because of the easy availability of guns of all types, especially “assault” weapons that are designed for war.
We need to do everything we can to erase the toxic influence of the NRA on our politics.
