All the whining and hand wringing about the CA Democratic Committee refusing to endorse Diane Feinstein for re-election is getting extremely tiresome.. a lot of it seems to be coming from people outside CA and are on the outside looking in.. CA is in no danger of having a blue seat turn red..
Sen Feninstein hasn’t been denied an opportunity to run.. CA is an open primary state and all candidates run on ONE ballot with the top two vote getters advancing to the General Election.. this almost certainly means TWO Dems on the General Election ballot..
I saw a comment on Twitter worried that the loss of Feinstein would mean 2 junior Senators.. it doesn’t work that way.. Kamala Harris would become SENIOR Senator if Feinstein lost.. and Harris has shown herself to be a perfectly capable Senator..
Yes Diane Fenistein has done a great job as Senator but the state has past her to the left.. she doesn’t get a free pass because of the job she has done in the past..
Think about this.. if Senator Feinstein is re-elected as Senator it’s likely to be as much for Republicans supporting her because her opponent is ‘too liberal’.. I can see Eastern CA, State of Jefferson, supporting her as well as Republican strongholds in SOCA..
Having said all that this isn’t a rant against Diane Feinstein.. I voted for her EVERY election.. it’s a rant against people that are not understanding CA itself these days..
if you live in CA and support her then by all means VOTE for her.. if you don’t live in CA.. sorry.. your vote doesn’t count..
I was born in CA and lived there all my life but I got no dog in this fight.. I moved to NV a few weeks ago because like a lot of people I was pushed out by the cost of living..
I’m just really irritated by all the nonsensical hand wringing.. politicians are like managers of pro sports teams.. they all know eventually that they’ll be fired and it’ll probably for nothing they did wrong..
