Reality has surpassed Shakespearean drama and tragedy. The #windpocalypse raging in the Northeast today is no match for the metric shitton of bad news that streamed from the White House for Jared Kushner this week. And now wife Ivanka joins him in the FBI’s crosshairs while being investigated for her Vancouver hotel deal. He was worried that “everyone was out to get him”. Turns out he was right!
The answer might be more terrible than Kushner imagined. The New York Times reported on Thursday that President Trump himself asked Chief of Staff John Kelly to help push his daughter Ivanka and her husband out of the White House — though as with most political matters, it doesn’t seem like Trump really knows what he wants. In private conversations he’s said to veer between “sounding regretful that Mr. Kushner is taking arrows and annoyed that he is another problem to deal with.” In general, he’s sending mixed messages on whether he actually wants his daughter and son-in-law on his team:
Privately, some aides have expressed frustration that Mr. Kushner and his wife, the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump, have remained at the White House, despite Mr. Trump at times saying they never should have come to the White House and should leave. Yet aides also noted that Mr. Trump has told the couple that they should keep serving in their roles, even as he has privately asked Mr. Kelly for his help in moving them out.

If John Kelly does find a way to usher them out the back door, they will no longer be able to do the one thing they seem to be good at- providing a constant source of bad news for the White House, dragging down Trump’s opinions and ratings among both resisters and trumpanzees alike, who detest them equally
