With early voting ended in Texas yesterday, we now have final tallies from Secretary of State for the largest 15 counties … and the EV results point to only one thing: #BlueWave2018 is building in Texas.
The top line numbers are pretty amazing …
Democrats have a 5-point lead over Republicans 52.5% to 47.5% — or about a 45,000 vote advantage in the raw vote total. County-by-county totals here: Texas - 2018 EV Results
More good news: Dems vote total for EV this year exceeded their EV vote total for 2016 by almost 20,000 votes, even though that was a presidential election year. In contrast, Republicans underperformed their 2016 EV by over 230,000 votes.
And if we compare apples to apples — this off-election of 2018 to the last off-election year of 2014, the difference in the Democrats’ performance is astounding. 2018 Dem EV is 105% higher than their 2014 EV total. Republican EV is also up from 2014 … by +15%. BlueWave vs. Red ripple.
As you would imagine, the swing from 2014 to 2018 is large. The Democrats’ performance has gone from losing the EV 38.3 to 61.7% in 2014 to winning the EV 52.5% to 47.5% … a whopping shift of +28%.
Sure looks like something big, blue and beautiful is happening deep in the heart of Texas!
