This is Rania Batrice, writing to you about something incredible that happened.
Yesterday, a block away from Paul Ryan's office in Racine, Randy Bryce was arrested while protesting in support of a clean DREAM Act.
Friends, as the daughter of immigrants, I honor my parents' sacrifice by fighting for candidates who will protect the American Dream. And now, when people ask me why I work for Randy Bryce, I'll just show them this:
There are over 690,000 DACA recipients who will lose protection unless Congress acts. Stand with them and demand that Congress pass a clean DREAM Act now. Add your name.
Randy supports fixing DACA not just because he's Mexican-American, but because it is the right thing to do. These children and young adults were brought to this country at the average age of six years old. The U.S. is their home, the only home they have ever known.
I shouldn't be surprised because Randy has been standing up for what's right for a long time. In 2011, Randy was one of the loudest voices opposing Act 10, Scott Walker's vicious attack on working people's right to bargain for better wages and working conditions. Randy's the one waving the flag.
And in 2010, Randy was arrested for peacefully demonstrating in support of the Jobs Act, which would have put families struggling from the recession back to work.
So, friends, I'm asking you to do the right thing and stand with 690,000 DACA recipients and Randy Bryce. Sign your name. Demand a clean DREAM Act.
Thank you,
