That’s it. Bob Mueller might as well pack up his hatchet and go home. His team can take down the stake and distribute the kindling to the street people. The auto-de-fe will not be televised. The fat lady is gargling as we speak.
So WTF am I talking about? What is it that has stirred up my liver? Oh, just that damned lefty media again. You know how they are... always going on and on about those bleeding heart librul things.
The story appears to have broken a week ago in The Atlantic, but few people noticed. Then the AP wire threw it out there and everyone from CNN to the Hog Fart Herald picked it up and splashed it across Page One. I saw it last night in my local Thuglikker news rag:
"Mueller Witness is Convicted Pedophile."
The story concerns one George Nader... not the actor (for those of you old enough to remember George Nader the actor). This is another George Nader that few people outside of the realm of international deal making have ever heard of.
But that's okay, the really important part is - he's a witness in the case witch hunt Robert Mueller is engaged in. AND HE'S A PEDOPHILE!
And that was the thing that really irked me when I saw the headline. My immediate reaction was "oh, salting the earth, are we?"
We all know that too many people don't read much past a headline and the first couple paragraphs. And this type of headline smacks of propaganda. First off, it makes it sound like Nader is Mueller's only witness. And let's face it, there are a lot of people who only know the barest of minimum basics about this matter. They might well believe that.
Secondly, a pedophile? A Convicted pedophile at that?
Oh, and I forgot to mention the second part. Most of the headlines I saw last night add that George Nader also has "a shadowy past." So there ya go. A child molester with a Shadowy Past. This is the best these rabble-rousers picking on our Dear Leader could come up with?
Unfortunately I'm one of those lefty libtards who has an annoying habit of reading past the first couple of paragraphs, it turns out that this headline isn't mere propaganda. This screams of desperation. Now why would they be desperate? Like I said almost nobody has heard of George Nader.
That's because, truthfully, who he is and why he's important are two questions that aren't so easy to answer. He was born in Lebanon and came here when he was teenager speaking very little English. He attended Cleveland State for a time before dropping out. He's now 58 years old. He's a magazine publisher, he's a diplomat, he's a political operative, he's businessman with close ties to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan - the effective ruler of the United Arab Emirates, he's a go-between for the Israeli government and the UAE.
He's all of the above and more.
George is quite the enigma, and truthfully his story reads like a Ian Fleming novel. I mean this guy has a resume that would choke the Trojan Horse. He's literally been there, done that, and has a whole closet full of T-shirts, both bloody and otherwise. The awkward part is nobody is quite sure how he got to be all these things. The elusiveness of his credentials though is what partly led to subsequent, post AP wire, stories adding the phrase "shadowy past," to the pedophile disclosure.
Before he became the latest subject of intrigue relating to Mueller’s probe, Nader ran a magazine on Middle East policy and positioned himself as a go-between in Middle East peace negotiations. Interviews with more than two dozen friends and associates of Nader illustrate a mysterious man who by some accounts has for decades quietly aided people in power, or by other accounts is a huckster always looking for a new way in. “He wanted to be a player,” Judith Kipper, director of the Middle East Program at the Institute of World Affairs, told Newsweek. Nader faded from the public eye in the early 2000s, only resurfacing in the recent reports.
Yeah, that "fading from the public eye" part came directly after what happened in Prague. In 2003, George was convicted of 10 counts of “moral corruption of minors, sexual abuse and impairing morals,” after abusing underage boys. What happened after the conviction is kind of vague. He was sentenced, to what isn't said, but within a year he was formally kicked out of the Czech Republic. Presumably with instructions to not return.
This was after his 1985 brush with the law here in the States for similar activities. A package was sent to him from outside the country. When Customs inspected it, they found magazines, photos and video tapes — again featuring young boys. He was charged with obscenity. Nader pleaded not guilty, and the charges against him were dismissed several months after the evidence seized from his home was thrown out on procedural grounds.
So George disappeared for about twelve years. He cut all ties, closed his magazine and remained vewy, vewy quiet.
But as Judith Kipper noted above, George still "wanted to be a player." and apparently George is the kind of guy who knows the three most important things to facilitate that in international politics - what to kiss, whose to kiss and when to kiss it. Soon there were rumors he was hanging around the Trump White House.
Mr. Nader, 58, made frequent trips to the White House during the early months of the Trump administration, meeting with Stephen K. Bannon and Jared Kushner to discuss American policy toward the Persian Gulf states in advance of Mr. Trump’s trip to Saudi Arabia in May 2017, according to people familiar with the meetings. By some accounts, it was Mr. Bannon who pushed for him to gain access to White House policymakers. Others said Mr. Kushner backed him.
It's hard to say just when George Nader attracted Robert Mueller's attention, but apparently the investigation has known his name for a while. The FBI met Nader's plane at Dulles in January when he was returning from an overseas trip. They confiscated his electronic equipment, handed him a subpoena, and advised him to call his lawyer. He's been "cooperating" with team Mueller ever since.
Gee whiz... all because he hung around the Trump White House and had meetings with Kushner and Bannon? Thinking back to those heady days, every Who in Whoville was scrambling to have a sit down with those two. The line was……
Oh wait... I just got passed a note. Hmmmmmm. Says here, George attended some secret meeting in the Seychelles just before Trump's inauguration. Seems the meeting was to establish a back channel between the new administration and the Kremlin. And there was another guy there.
Hey this looks like it might be important. Now I wonder why none of this was mentioned in those headlines from last night?
