This morning Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels’ attorney, made the stunning allegation that his client has been physically threatened. He didn’t go into detail, instead teasing that these questions would be answered during his client’s interview with 60 Minutes, which is tentatively scheduled to air on March 25.
This afternoon Avenatti was back on CNN for an interview with Jake Tapper and he went even further, alleging that some of the incidents Stormy Daniels will be talking about have happened during Trump’s time in office. From CNN:
"Is there anything in the litany of accusations -- you would call them facts -- that surround this case that happened while Donald Trump was President?" CNN's Jake Tapper asked Michael Avenatti, Daniels' lawyer, during an interview Friday.
"Yes," Avenatti replied.
When asked by Tapper if he could elaborate, Avenatti gave a simple "no."
When Tapper began to ask about when Daniels “felt physically threatened,” Avenatti quickly corrected him and said she didn’t feel physically threatened, she was physically threatened. When pressed on who might have threatened Daniels, Avenatti added:
"I think that when the American people hear from my client who will provide details -- very specific details related to this threat -- they will conclude, as I have, that this was not a random threat by some wing nut ... out of the blue," he told Tapper.
