While writing this I am sitting in a free period class, fuming, trying to keep a straight face. But I don't feel nearly as much pain and anger as the Muslims affected and their families. The pain on a man’s face when he was stabbed, is so unreal. So here I am reporting on a story that should never have to be reported on, it should never even be a thing. I can’t believe I am here right now, talking about something so ridiculous. The sad thing is, it is 100 percent real.
Now, you are probably wondering what I am talking about, or how I found out about it. Like I said I am in school right now. Writing a diary on a school computer, praying my teacher doesn’t look over my shoulder.
So, here we go. Before you continue reading, take a deep breath and prepare yourself for the absolutes insanity of this world. More specifically, something happening in the UK. Just today, April 3rd. Just a normal day for us here in America. Kids are in school, Trump is messing up our world, the normal. But over in the UK, Muslims are fearing for their lives. Today is Punish a Muslim Day.
This was established by a letter sent out to a lot of people in the UK. Already, people are being disrespected. People are being stabbed (this is highly graphic), women are getting their headscarf yanked off their heads. This is all terrifying. But worst of all, it is all a "game." Yes, you read that correctly. People are being used in a game. A real-life game. People are being hurt, and the person that hurt them gets points.
What are the points? How do you get them? Simple, on the letter it had a score sheet. Ten points if you verbally abuse a Muslim. 25 points if you pull the head scarf off a Muslim woman. (They put women in quotation marks as if a Muslim woman isn't an actual woman.) 50 points if you throw acid on a Muslims face. 100 points to beat up a Muslim. 250 points if you torture a Muslim, electrocution, skinning, use of a rack etc. 500 points if you “butcher” a Muslim, using a gun, knife, vehicle or otherwise. 1,000 points if you burn or bomb a mosque. 2,500 points if you nuke Mecca. That escalated quickly.
This is the world we live in now. How wonderful it is. How safe, innocent. Just lovely in general. There is so much we can do to stop this kind of thing from happening, but when it happens, no one does anything about it. Muslims are taking a stand, why are they the only ones doing anything about this.
Muslims are not terrorists. Jews are not terrorists. Mexicans are not terrorists. Christians are not terrorists. Asians are not terrorists. No one big group of people, based off of religion, based off of ethnicity, are terrorists. Sure, within those groups there may be terrorists. There are terrorists everywhere. That is just how the world is, it can be changed, but it isn’t.
I feel like so much can be done to change things. Don’t get me wrong, I am trying my best. Probably doing even more than my best, but without the help of others, not much can be achieved. I was brought up to be a leader, a fighter, but also a follower. Take a step back, let others take control. That is my life motto. But now, it is time to take charge, this is ridiculous.
People are people, human beings are all born equal. None of us are born racist. Born terrorists. Born dangerous. We evolve and grow older, becoming the way we all are now. I have grown up a fighter for good causes. But many people grow up to become what I consider a monster. Not an entire group or ethnicity. Your skin color doesn’t MAKE you kill people. That is scientifically impossible. Impossible. It is just not how life works.
People can love. That is possible. Loving is something we are capable of doing. Why can’t we do it? Why don’t we do it? Sure, a simple smile will not help someone who wants to shoot up a school. But when people grow up with smiles and love they will grow up happier. Childhood is important. It is a time for growing up. A time for deciding what type of a person you’re going to be. It doesn’t matter your ethnicity or religion, we all go through this stage. In fact, I am still going through this stage.
So, going back to the problem at hand. Hurting people is not a game. It shouldn’t have a point system. It shouldn’t even exist. Instead, the UK has a game within its walls, a game that ends in death and pain. A game so terrifying it only belongs in horror movies. But I guess we are just living in a horror movie aren’t we. We live in a nightmare.
I have said everything I need to say. So to come to a close, I just want to say, this world is so messed up. It can change, people just need to come together for that to happen. Here on this website, we do. Everyone here fights for their causes, it is honestly beautiful. I wish the rest of the world was like this website. Maybe one day it will be, I hope I can be a part of that. I have hope that the world can get better. I want to make the world a better place, but I need your help.
