Three South Carolina Republican State Representatives have introduced legislation to begin the process of having South Carolina secede from the United States.
Reps. Michael Pitts (Greenwood & Laurens Counties), Jonathon Hill (R, Anderson County) and Ashley Trantham (R, Greenville County) "quietly introduced a bill that would allow lawmakers to debate seceding from the U.S. “if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms in this State,” according to the Associated Press (April 6, 2018).
While this bill has little chance of passage, South Carolinians need to speak up loudly that we will not let far-right zealots from our state destroy our country again.
