Alright, lets get it started.
BERLIN — Six people were detained in connection with what police and prosecutors allege was a plan to carry out an attack on Berlin's half-marathon Sunday, German authorities said.
"There were isolated indications that those arrested, aged between 18 and 21 years, were participating in the preparation of a crime in connection with this event," prosecutors and police wrote in a joint statement.
Berlin police tweeted that six people were detained in cooperation with the city's prosecutor's office.
Good on the Berlin PD for stopping what could have been a horrible tragedy.
North Korean officials have directly notified the United States that leader Kim Jong Un is prepared to discuss his country's nuclear weapons program when he meets with President Trump, The Associated Press reports.
Two members of the Trump administration confirmed to AP on Sunday that Pyongyang directly communicated with the U.S., but would not say when or how this contact occurred. Last month, South Korean leaders visiting Washington passed along an invitation from Kim to Trump to hold a summit, and Trump immediately accepted the offer. They have not yet set a date for their meeting.
Well this is promising to say the least. For anyone worried that Trump was gonna wrangle us into a Nuclear war with North Korea, looks like Kim Jong has opted not to give him the chance. So you know, one less thing to worry about, for the moment at least.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation could upend the 2018 midterm elections — whether it reveals wrongdoing at the highest levels or exonerates the president. And yet campaign officials and party insiders on both sides are unprepared for it.
Interviews with two dozen political strategists reveal that there is very little planning underway for the possibility that Mueller will make significant news this year, potentially in the middle of a campaign cycle that history suggests will already be difficult for the president's party.
"It's something on everybody's minds," said one Republican strategist working on races in Tennessee, who like many sources interviewed for this story requested anonymity to discuss internal campaign strategy. "There's an unknown there. That's certainly a fear."
Republicans are right to be worried. They had their chance to rid themselves of Trump but they didn’t take it, now they gotta live with the consequences (Also: Exonerate him? Yeah right. And I’m Czar Nicholas the Second).
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) officially filed to join lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in an effort to reverse its ending of net neutrality rules, The Hill reports.
"The internet drives innovation, fuels our 21st century economy, and helps create the jobs of tomorrow – especially for the connected world of interactive entertainment," the ESA said in a press release. "Consumers deserve rules of the road that prevent blocking, throttling, and other restrictive conduct – and enable the great online experiences that bring meaning and value to all parts of our country. ESA will make that case in the months ahead on behalf of America’s gamers and game makers."
You knew I wouldn’t avoid getting at least one Net Neutrality Piece in there. Now the Gaming Industry is fighting for Net Neutrality. Another headache Corporate stooge Ajit Pai doesn’t need.
April 8 (UPI) -- A federal jury on Friday awarded $10 million to a man who was framed for murder by San Francisco police officers in 2007.
The jury found that the two inspectors on the case, Michael Johnson and Maureen D'Amico, fabricated evidence against Jamal Trulove and withheld evidence that may have helped him prove his innocence, the San Francisco Gate reported. Both inspectors are now retired.
Trulove was convicted in 2010 but won an acquittal after a 2015 retrial. After his release, he filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city and county of San Francisco, which will pay the $10 million award.
It sounds like this guy got a real crappy deal. I’m glad that he got justice after all this time.
Anyways, that’s it from me, have a good morning everyone.
