As I posted in last week’s diary, the woozle Gus and I have been on a “staycation,” hosting our house guest and “vacationing” around our own local area. We were out and about a good part of the last nine days. Of course, a fine time was had by all.
Today, my friend set off on the second leg of her “southern” tour and I am … well, let’s just say I am “recovering” (I just don’t bounce back like I used to do when I was in my thirties, or my forties, or even my fifties.).
The tea on the porch was consumed. The historical sites were sighted. The forays into the city forayed. Museums mused and amusing. The country cousin citified and the city cousin countrified. Dining out will again become dining in. The wine consumption must wind down.
Yes, the household is transitioning from staycationing to simply staying put.
The woozle Gus has been assured, however, that our usual walks along the river, around the pond, and in our local parks will continue.
What happens next? The big cleanup. The return to everyday tasks. Catching up on chores left undone. Here is how the woozles and pooties and birdzees and other critters are easing into the post-staycation transition period.
But first, we pause for the usual word from our sponsor...
And now, on to the post staycation chores blog!
First, we need to catch up on the laundry…
We may be at home, but the outside still beckons. Last week: croquet on the lawn...
… this week — mowing the lawn.
Catching up on household chores...
Last week: preparing interesting meals for my guest …
This week: back to basics and a beer budget.
Last week: out and about…
… This week: back on the couch with the TV remote.
Catching up on reading...
And finally, memories of the staycation…
The blog is now open!
