Lousy Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo shares quite a few donors with Donald Trump, from relatively obscure billionaires like Nelson Peltz and John Paulson to some big names on Team Trump:
Anthony Scaramucci, who was briefly Trump's communications director, in 2010 was the finance chairman of "Republicans For Cuomo" while former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is on Trump's current legal team, co-chaired Cuomo's transition committee on public safety in 2010.
A Cuomo spokesperson dismissed the issue, pointing out that many of these donors have given money to other prominent Democrats. Fine! But being a donor to both parties and being the finance chair of “Republicans for Cuomo” or a co-chair of a Cuomo transition committee are two different things. And on Cuomo’s part, being a Democrat who actively works to keep Democrats from power in the state legislature lines up rather nicely with his Scaramucci and Giuliani ties. So he won’t get out of it that easily.
Can you chip in $3 to help Cynthia Nixon beat Andrew Cuomo in the New York Democratic primary?
