Grammar is important. Especially when you’re president of the United States.
Take this tweet, for instance:
I had to read that twice, blink hard, and then read it again.
Then I figured it out.
You see, there’s a difference between the following two sentences. A big difference:
“Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!”
“Ask them if they enjoyed her after-election celebration!”
With the hyphen, the intended meaning is conveyed. Did they enjoy her post-election party?
Without the hyphen, it sounds like Trump is suggesting those 13 angry Democrats had some sort of untoward rendezvous with Hillary Clinton after her election party — which I’m pretty confident didn’t happen.
Maybe Hillary can sue Trump for this calumny. Or at the very least send an outraged tweet his way.
