On Tuesday, ABC cancelled one of it’s most successful sitcom comeback shows "Roseanne" on Tuesday after the show's biggest star, Roseanne Barr, went on a racist rant on Twitter. There are cutting tweets, and there are outright racist tweets. Barr chose Door #2. The very outspoken actress/comedian posted the following comment about former adviser to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett. (The original tweet has been deleted. Here is a screenshot.)
“if muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”—Roseanne Barr
ABC used a few choice words themselves when canceling her show.
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”-ABC
It’s good to see a major network take action. It’s unclear whether they acted out of their own accord, or were pressured by the show’s production team, cast members, high profiled Twitter members—and the public.
Following Barr's Twitter rant, one of the show's consulting producers, Wanda Sykes, said she's done with the show. "I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC," Sykes tweeted.
And Sara Gilbert, who plays Barr's daughter on the ABC sitcom, tweeted that Barr's comments are "abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show."
A sample of the Trump and Barr love story unfolded on the Trump-loving Fox News. Here was FOX’s tweet on March 29, 2018
Barr tried to apologize for Tuesday’s racist rant, but most folks on Twitter were having none of it. Here is her apology tweet (which is a screenshot in case it’s deleted) followed by the first two comments favored by thousands.
Roseanne Barr
“I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me—my joke was in bad taste.”

The first comment by Lalenia Lichamer: “That was who you really are.” (over 7k likes)
Barr also reportedly said she was leaving Twitter. A little too late, Roseanne. For live glimpse of Barr’s love for Trump here is a clip of her on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
How does a that saying go: It takes one racist to know one racist. Something like that...
