No comment from Trump on today’s demonstrations, except this…
The problems will come further down the road as those who do not swear Constitutional allegiance take on the tasks of detainee security and the populations increase.
Because doesn’t America have the world’s dumbest laws? Right after tweeting about his SCOTUS pick, Trump ( or his designated tweeter ) expresses his usual stupidity.
Under the Trump regime, ensuring security for the branches of the Prison Industrial Complex goes to the public/private warders of the private prisons, who do work with the federal, state and local police, now only highlighted more as legislators try to give more ICE power to sworn LEOs.
Active-duty and retired U.S. military officers and enlisted personnel are expressing a sense of moral emergency over the Defense Department setting up detention camps for undocumented immigrants on military bases.
“It smacks of totalitarianism,” said Steve Kleinman, a retired Air Force colonel and military intelligence officer.
Raf Noboa, an Iraq War veteran and former Army sergeant, said he was astounded by the “enormous moral offense” the camps represent and which the military will be ordered to support.
“America’s military once liberated people from concentration camps,” Noboa told The Daily Beast. “It beggars the mind and our morality that it might be used to secure them.”

EL PASO, Texas — The Trump administration’s plan for immigrant families on the southern border involves holding them together on military bases for a prolonged, uncertain period of time.
President Trump’s executive order issued Wednesday seeks to keep families together in detention while both parents and children await decisions on their immigration and criminal court cases. With Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facilities already at or near capacity, the order requires the Secretary of Defense to make “any existing facilities available for the housing and care of alien families” and to ”construct such facilities if necessary.”
Among the likely facilities are three in Texas, the Army’s Fort Bliss and Dyess and Goodfellow Air Force Bases. The Department of Health and Human Services visited those sites before Trump’s order to determine their fitness for operating on-base facilities. Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas is also under consideration.

As the rightward crisis rolls on, the paramilitarization of American law enforcement may already be breaking down as more racists either join law enforcement or the pseudo-militias gain more quasi-legal standing. Snack Militia Sovereignty: rent-a-cops for the Trump Hotels? Probably not, but these populations with military experience will continue to intermingle as standards erode and as new populations become incarcerated. Because the US claims it has no political prisoners, but no one believes this claim.
- It was easier to be an anti-government extremist back then. Obama was in office so aiming guns at feds and LEOs came naturally to these groups. #TheGoodOldDays
- With Trump's election, the militia movement faced a dilemma - how can you hate the gov and everything it stands for when your guy is in charge.
- The solution was found in the Antifa movement. The militants grabbed their guns & tacticool camo costumes and set out to protect 1) Trump supporters at rallies, 2) alt-right leaders giving public speeches, and 3) Neo Nazis & other white supremacists at the Unite the Right rally.
- They had a little bit of an optics problem with the alt-right and Neo Nazis. They were also surprised to find that Antifa wasn't made up of "super soldiers" after all. So what's a movement driven by anger and fear to do without a viable bogeyman?
What’s stranger is that the ad hoc anti-government militias spending their time “protecting” RW ideologues and their demonstrations might move however overtly or covertly to either being in or protecting that CT thing they most fear: FEMA camps. Then again, there are numerous private military contractors ready to integrate themselves with the warder profession.
