I wrote on Friday about a call from my oncologists’ office regarding a verbal report on my PET Scan taken earlier that day. I was told I’m in remission from Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was over the moon happy.
Unfortunately, todays visit to oncology revealed the full reading/version of the PET Scan. While I’ve made remarkable, even miraculous progress toward remission, there are still a few lymph nodes that are abnormally active. 2 more infusions of Bretuximab are planned, the next one on Monday (they were going to give it today, but I had another appointment immediately after for a follow-up echocardiogram to monitor my heart failure) and another 3 weeks from then. That will make 6 total infusions.
Still, it’s decent news. As my oncologist said, you've hit a home run, but haven’t made it to home plate yet. This treatment is clearly working.
Thanks for all the prayers, positive vibes, and kind thoughts from the community along with the community quilt which has kept me going since 2017.
