Donald Trump managed to work a trip to one of his own golf courses in between tea with the queen and his submission to Vladimir Putin … and of course, Trump got U.S. taxpayers to pay his own company for his little vacation in Scotland. The federal government paid SLC Turnberry, a Trump company, £52,477 for Trump’s weekend stay:
The US taxpayers’ money went towards hotel rooms used by Mr Trump and his staff during his two-night stay at Turnberry, which the president said would be dominated by meetings and calls. He ended up playing two rounds of golf at the historic course.
Trump has refused to divest from the Trump Organization and continues to profit from his hotels and golf courses—hotels and golf courses he visits regularly on the federal dime. Then again, being a spray-tanned grifter isn’t as bad as what he did in Helsinki with Putin after his departure from Scotland.
