With the main event—the GOP runoff for governor—safely in the books for Secretary of State Brian Kemp, we’re just waiting on the outcomes of two Democratic runoffs for congressional districts in the Atlanta suburbs, the 6th and 7th.
With the early vote (but none of the Election Day vote) tallied in two of the three counties that make up the 6th, Kevin Abel has a narrow 52-48 lead on Lucy McBath. Plenty more votes have yet to be counted, though.
And in the 7th, with the early vote tabulated and a handful of Election Day precincts also counted, David Kim has a much wider 57-43 lead on Carolyn Bourdeaux. Again, though, there are many more votes to be tallied, so results in both of these races, but especially the 6th, could change.
We’re going to sign off for the night, so thanks for checking in. Join us back here for our next liveblog on Thursday (yes, Thursday!), Aug. 2 for all the action in Tennessee.
