Everyone Team Trump has hired to work for them is a terrible human being. Everyone. Every single person. So it makes sense that top Interior Secretary spokescritter and Ryan Zinke mouthpiece Faith Vander Voort would be exposed as a virulent anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant bigot.
Oh, and she used to work for Rep. Steve King, just to top things off.
“A devout Muslim,” Vander Voort wrote in her post, “could never serve in the Oval Office of the United States of America, not because of exclusion or discrimination, but because their own religion strictly prohibits them from taking an oath to anything other than Allah.”
That's not how America works, Voort. It's also a retread of ancient conservative garbage once claiming that Catholics could not serve in government for the same reason; we all realize the movement is hard up for ideas but you might make an effort not just to dig up century-old pamphlets and change two or three words.
Oh, she also believes children born in the United States to improper parents aren't citizens, which is a very neo-Nazi thing to think, though it's gained increasing traction among the Trump team of late (possibly because of all the hanging out with Nazis.)
“I’m sorry Buzzfeed, but you need to re-read the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the United States because those babies are illegal aliens,” she wrote. “Not Americans. [...]
All right, fine. So a top spokesperson for Ryan Zinke's Department of the Interior is a conspiracy-addled nutcase who thinks the we need to expand Trump's baby jails to begin deporting American citizens of incorrect parentage. Finally, we understand why the Trump team picked her for the job: for being a conspiracy nut and a racist. Of course.
No word yet on whether Zinke is going to ask for her resignation. We're just gonna toss that thought in there because Zinke, busy dodging numerous accusations of corruption, probably has a lot of other things on his mind but should certainly be encouraged to pipe up on this, too, when he has a spare moment.
