This weekend marks the beginning of our outreach efforts to help connect our Daily Kos community directly to the efforts of organizations all over the country working to empower progressive leadership.
Above, you’ll see some of that — my meeting with Kara Eastman, the progressive candidate running in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. Our community, though isn’t tied to candidates or issues and endorsements, instead, we’re working to celebrate the volunteers and those who make an effort to improve every organization around them.
Next weekend, you’ll get a full run down of Connect! Unite! Act! in action — with a follow up, including a ton of photos, discussions, and more about Nebraska, the Chicago DNC meeting, and more!
Celebrating our volunteers is something I think we can all agree on is an important task — especially considering this year candidates, state organizations, activist groups and others need more people to donate their time and sweat equity to help fix our Congress.
Senator Merkley (D-OR), pictured right, understands the importance of a volunteers for our Democratic effort.
At the DNC Summer meeting, a celebration of that volunteerism and a renewed commitment for a transparent and open Democratic National Committee begins.
If you enjoy Connect! Unite! Act! prepare for a blockbuster next week, as we’ll have time to recap Nebraska, talk about the Democratic National Committee, and review what comes next in South Dakota and Minnesota!
What are you working on in your local area to move our progressive agenda along?
