Chinese, Iranian and North Korean attempts to meddle in the 2018 US elections are, like Russia's efforts, "a sufficient national security concern," White House national security adviser John Bolton said Sunday.
"I can say definitively that it's a sufficient national security concern about Chinese meddling, Iranian meddling and North Korean meddling that we're taking steps to try and prevent it," Bolton said Sunday on ABC's "This Week."
Yes, Cap'n Crunch has determined that "meddling" by the Chinese, who Trump has shared the best chocolate cake ever with and made a great deal, the North Koreans, who Trump told to knock it off with their nukes but ended up conceding military operations in the Korean Sea and allowed them to continue with nuclear activity, and Iran, because, well, who knows how they got lumped in -- it's those three that are the biggest concern.
He continues:
When asked by Martha Raddatz about President Donald Trump's statement on Twitter Saturday morning that those focused on Russian meddling "should start also looking in another direction, China," Bolton said "all four of those countries" are a concern.
Huh. There's no direct mention of Russia anywhere in there, except by a reporter. Presumably, Russia is included in "those four", but he refuses to say it.
So, where are we now. We have a doofus screaming no meddling, no collusion, no obstruction, Russia is our friend, etc., and we have his newest "security advisor" telling us that Russia (as well as three whose name he'll actually say) are a "concern".
Since we're now told that truth isn't truth, perhaps China isn't China, North Korea isn't North Korea, and Iran isn't Iran. They are all Russia. Russia itself? Well, Russia is in fact Russia, and every single intelligence service in the US has already connected them to election meddling.
I'm not one to make snap judgements, but I'm pretty sure that this is Trump's petty retaliation tactics, again. "China didn't do what I want, so say it's them. Same with North Korea. And well, I don't like Iranians -- too brown, so throw them in there. But don't mention big daddy."
This "news", of course, will soon enter the Fuck America and Friends echo chamber and Trump will start repeating it. Expect it.
Just don't believe anything that comes out of this administration. It's the whole "Fool me once, shame on me" thing. This is attempt 7,347, I think, this year. The only people still buying these loads of crap are more foolish than the fool in chief.
I’m not saying that other nation-states are not attempting to interfere with our way of life, but that’s been going on long before these last elections. I am saying the 2016 election meddling has been proven by every credible, reliable intelligence source within our own government, as well as a few others (the UK being one), and all of them have concluded it is Russia. I’m also saying that there have already been extremely similar attacks (spear phishing) in Florida and California, and they have Russian fingerprints all over them. There is no FourHundredPoundGuyInHisBasementistan, and these new ones are more likely to be scapegoats and distractions rather than a true, major threat, especially in mid-terms.
The remaining question here is, should I start taking bets on when this will be rebuked and debunked? Nah, I don't want to make a penny off this sham of an administration.
