On Twitter, John Harwood quotes Krugman’s next column:
(First, let’s note when he says “cool kids,” he’s referring to his own paper.)
But then I started reading the responsive tweets:
While Krugman was busy helping to clear the path for Hillary and sandbagging her democratic primary opponents, some of the cool kids wanted a Democratic candidate who could actually beat Trump
followed by:
The cool kids voted for HRC. Make no mistake. Misguided, angry Bernie babies, along with Putin gave us tRump. They are complicit in this nightmare.
Just stop.
Those wars should be over. Continuing them distracts from the essential job of winning this election.
You want to fight about policy differences? Great! That’s what primaries are for. That’s what you do once you get elected. But don’t let the animosities of 2016 infect policy issues. Don’t put down a candidate’s policies because of his or her associations, past and present.
Democrats are for:
Universal Healthcare
Better jobs
Better schools
Clean energy
Fair immigration
Gun Control
And you know what? So are substantial majorities of voters.
So Just Stop.
