Is there anyone who was alive at the time, who doesn’t remember that Tuesday? What we also need to remember is not just the heroism of those who gave so much for others, but the burden the suvivors still carry.
I saw a programme over the weekend about Stephen Siller. The Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation, was started by the family of a first responder who died that day. They have never forgotten how much is owed to those who gave so much, and who have been abandoned by the government that owes them so much. Not all cancers showed up right away. And PTSD is the ugly gift that keeps on giving.
So today, I honour not only those who gave so much, in New York and DC and whose lives ended in a field in Pennsylvania….I honour those who lived through it and who should be taken care of. They’re not asking for a dream vacation; they’re asking for chemo to stay alive.
All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation.
There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope.
We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community.
We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. On Sunday we go to the C!U!A! posting to show support for all the work for November’s elections. Please to join us there, as well.
Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.
