Robert Costa of WaPo is, as they say, well-sourced among Republicans. I think he likely is conservative himself, but I’ve always found his reporting to be straight down the middle. He doesn’t blast anybody, never reveals his sources, and seems to always be in the thick of things. I enjoy reading his reporting and listening to him on MSNBC programs.
If I understood correctly…
Costa just reported that Senate Republicans seem to be saying they think they, and not the White House, should be leading the discussions regarding Kavanaugh. They think Plump can certainly make his comments and other White House folks can make theirs, but ultimately Senate Republicans are in charge and that if by TONIGHT there is a sense that Senate Republican support for Kavanaugh is not locked down, there may be pressure starting to be applied to the White House to withdraw the nomination.
Ain’t politics great?
