Grassley is trying to get away with holding the Kavanaugh hearing on Monday without getting the testimony of the actual first hand witnesses.
Now Democrats are demanding that Mark Judge testify under oath and under penalty of perjury.
Judge is a first hand witness to the alleged attempted rape.
In what universe do you have a rape investigation without getting the testimony of the first hand witness?
Mark Judge must testify on Monday or the entire hearing is a sham.

UPDATE 1:
Mark Judge is refusing to testify:
"In fact, I have no memory of this alleged incident," Judge said in his statement to the committee. "Brett Kavanaugh and I were friends in high school but I do not recall the party described in Dr. Ford's letter.
...
"I have no information to offer the Committee and I do not wish to speak publicly regarding the incidents described in Dr. Ford's letter," Judge added.
Wonder why he is unwilling to go in front of the committee under oath and testify accordingly? Seems like he could help his old buddy Kavanaugh out a whole lot. Or maybe…
Remember this is a person who stands accused of participating in attempted rape.
And the Republican’s are like... “Well, he doesn’t want to testify. Nothing we can do about it.”
Subpoena this clown. Force him to swear to his denials under penalty of perjury.

UPDATE 2:
Democratic Senators are having none of this nonsense.
Politico: Key witness tells senators he won't testify at Kavanaugh hearing
Sen Chris Coons:
“I do not think we will be meeting the test of a full and fair hearing without Mark Judge present, without Dr. Ford present and without the FBI doing an expanded background check,” Coons said. “There are questions to ask of [Kavanaugh] now. I do hope Dr. Ford comes forward and is treated respectfully.”
Sen Diane Feinstein:
“Chairman Grassley today said there would be only two witnesses invited to testify at the Kavanaugh hearing next week on sexual assault allegations. Compare that to the 22 witnesses at the 1991 Anita Hill hearing and it’s impossible to take this process seriously," Feinstein said. "This is another attempt by Republicans to rush this nomination and not fully vet Judge Kavanaugh.”
Daily Beast: Kavanaugh Prep School Pal Mark Judge Doesn’t Want to Testify Publicly
“How could we want to get the truth and not have Mr. Judge come to the hearing?” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) asked from the Senate floor on Tuesday.
...
“He is identified specifically, personally, as an eyewitness to the occurrence. He should testify,” Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) echoed to reporters.
New York Post: Man said to be in room during alleged Kavanaugh attack refusing to testify
Democrats were incredulous that someone like Judge — who Ford says watched and laughed as a drunken Kavanaugh nearly raped her more than 30 years ago — wouldn’t be called before the panel.

NY Magazine: Meet Brett Kavanaugh’s Alleged Accomplice, Mark Judge
If that drunken party boy got sober and grew up into this very conventional defender of the patriarchy, maybe he’s not the best, er, judge of what happened in 1983 or of his old friend’s fitness for the highest court in the land, either. No wonder Republican senators are reluctant to put Judge before a camera and a microphone with the future of constitutional law at stake.
Slate: Mark Judge Must Be Called to the Stand — Senate Republicans are refusing to call Christine Blasey Ford’s second alleged attacker, perhaps because he’s a terrible character witness for Brett Kavanaugh.
If the Judiciary Committee is going to conduct anything resembling a fair inquiry into the matter, it must call Judge to testify and subpoena him if necessary. Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Republican head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on Tuesday that only Ford and Kavanaugh would be called to testify. But Judge is in a unique position to provide testimony on the incident in question, and he’s uniquely positioned to comment on the aftermath. In a written statement describing the alleged assault, Ford also wrote that she once saw Judge after the incident and “he was extremely uncomfortable seeing me.”
New York Times: Kavanaugh’s Accuser Has Yet to Confirm Appearance at Monday Hearings
The woman who has accused President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault has so far failed to respond to requests from the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify at an extraordinary public hearing on Monday…
...
Dr. Blasey, who has two teenagers, has moved out of her house, is arranging for private security for herself and her family, and is effectively in hiding, the person said. But Dr. Blasey has also been buoyed by a flood of supportive messages from friends and strangers.
“Ninety percent of people think she’s a hero and are extremely supportive of her, and 10 percent want her to die immediately,” the person said, adding, “Her worst fears are coming true.”
Right on Jed! Best observation I’ve seen yet!
But Judge has already spoke publicly. He first denied the incident, then said he had "no recollection.
He doesn't want to repeat it under oath.
