I finished this yesterday, just in time to show it at my quilt guild meeting today. I am quite taken with it. I may keep it but if I don’t, it will go into the silent auction at my guild’s next quilt show.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I took a workshop last month to learn this technique and this is the one I did in that class. You do the background in strips and applique the flowers or fish on top.
At this meeting, we had a Paint Party fund raiser. If you have never been to one, an artistic type teacher leads everyone in creating an easy small acrylic painting of a scene like a beach or trees or birds. She plays rock music between instructions while we do that part of it and then she teaches more. Our painting was “Rainbow Palms”. She was a lot of fun, great sense of humor and the ladies of the guild all had a riotous time. We were all pleased with our results to a large extent.
I know my palm trees look like yuccas, and one of them looks like it is trying to leave the island, but it was a fund raiser and my money looked as good as anyone else’s. Teehee. We all promised not to judge our or other’s paintings, so here it is sans any bs.
So, what are you up to?
