In the Financial Times Edward Luce today says (subscription required) Brett Kavanaugh had a history of being a “partisan operative,” a “politician in judges’ clothing,” and one of Ken Starr’s “fiercest attack dogs.” Luce points out that while the mainstream media and Republicans are emphasizing the honor of the Honorable Judge Kavanaugh, the fact that he has acted as a partisan’s partisan before he became a judge is given little remark.
According to Mr. Luce, Kavanaugh was a main leaker of the prurient stories about President Clinton which Ken Starr was want to leak to the public (Unlike Mr. Mueller’s hermetically sealed silence!). Kavanaugh was also part of the legal team that helped Bush win the presidency in the battle of the contested ballots in Florida in 2000. He received a position in the Bush White House afterward.
The Republicans are determined to keep the darker stories of Kavanaugh’s life under wraps—at least until he is confirmed. Who knows how many more stories about Brett Kavanaugh are yet to be uncovered?
