A fighter for New Hampshire, an accomplished family lawyer, an advocate for vets, a voice for justice, and the nation’s youngest LGBTQ legislator.
You can meet them all here.
These are the candidates who will be instrumental in defining whether we build a Blue Wave that crests over Republican majorities this November, or not.
How many of us even know two of their names?
- Jenn Alford-Teaster running in New Hampshire SD 8
- Sydney Batch up for election in North Carolina's HD 37
- Sabrina Cervantes running for California’s AD 60
- Damon Ely candidate in New Mexico HD 23
- Ryan Facteau in Maine’s HD 11
And there’s hundreds more.
More than 5,300 Democrats are running for their state legislature this year, and of them more than 2,300 candidates are women and more than 1,100 are candidates of color.
This is, quite literally, the foundation on which we are building the Democratic Party in this country.
The opportunity staring us all in the face this month is to support these candidates with our time, our donations and our best efforts.
Trust me, the GOP excels at local state races. They’ve kicked our asses for a decade.
Now is our time and our chance to end that, and to build something new.
The truth is, we don’t have to know each of these candidate’s names to make a difference.
None of us can.
But we can all do our part.
For me, that’s started with donating to the DLCC, Sister District and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.
For you that may take a different form.
But tonight I’m asking you one favor.

These are us. This is 2018.
And for the next weeks, along with countless volunteers and staffers, this is our army.
