I haven’t seen a diary on this yet but in such a close race involving a key Senate pickup for Democrats, this is very good news.
Now I know Sinema’s centrism is anathema to some here but the Republic’s editorial lauds it:
There may be no better example of politics by collaboration than Sinema. She literally wrote the book on it –– "Unite and Conquer" (2009). She leads with an arm extended to the other side and a promise to work together.
She has traveled a long ways from the street-marching activist she once was to the good-natured centrist she now is.
I wish she was more progressive but reddish Arizona remains hard state for a progressive to win in a state-wide race. I think Sinema, should she be elected, will be there for us for the key votes including majority leader, and protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Being bisexual, she will also be an important supporter on LGBTQ issues.
