You read that diary title correctly. As the Florida recount continues and the Senate and Governor’s races further tighten, Democratic attorney Marc Elias just tweeted out this unbelievable news.
The sitting Governor, corrupt Rick Scott, wants to disenfranchise Florida voters.
Plaintiff, Rick Scott for Florida, sues Defendant, Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, in her official capacity as the Broward County, Florida Supervisor of Elections (“Supervisor of Elections”), and alleges as follows:
1. This an action for emergency injunctive relief to impound and preserve all voting machines, tallying devices, and ballots, pursuant to Article I, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution, and Chapters 101 and 102 (the “Election Code”), and Chapter 119 (the “Public Records Act”) of the Florida Statutes pending the completion of any recounts, election contests, or litigation related to the 2018 general election for the office of United States Senator for Florida.
Scott wants the court to side with him and impound voting machines!
Elias asks a great question. Why is Scott concerned about all votes being counted?
Chuck Schumer, earlier today, told jake Tapper that Scott should recuse himself from the process. Makes perfect sense to me.
Why hasn’t the sitting Governor recused himself from the recount? Recounts are done all the time. There’s a recount process and Scott wants to end this process prematurely.
The corruption here is breathtaking. Rick Scott is scared he will lose the recount and let’s be honest here, Republicans don’t want people to vote or their votes to be counted.
If you’re in Florida, you can help Marc Elias with the recount. He needs your help.
