In WAYR?, I note what I’m reading and comment...you note what you are reading and comment. Occasionally, I may add a section or a link related to books…and my imagination has been captured by one book on my list.
Permanent reading list:
The Complete Essays by Michel de Montaigne- II.12- An apology for Raymond Sebond.- I have only read selections of this previously and I have never read the actual theological work that M. is defending here and, at least to this point, it makes for a difficult read. Sometimes M. sounds like a conservative Catholic and, at other times, M. almost talks about God as I would expect Spinoza to do; that is, as a pantheist
The Complete Sherlock Holmes Vol. 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle- The Hound of the Baskervilles.
I am reading:
On the Other Side of Freedom: The Case for Hope by DeRay McKesson- Almost done and about ready to review.
Fear: Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward
Labyrinths of Iron by Benson Bobrick
Last but not least is this wonderful Buzzfeed photo essay titled 21 Pictures That Prove Libraries Are The Last Magical Places On Earth by Gabriel H. Sanchez.
All of these pictures are stunning...I think that the picture of the Holland House library in World War II London is my favorite, I suspect that this picture, like similar pictures that I’ve seen from wartime London, was a bit staged and I don’t blame the Brits one bit.
