I’m from California. I have friends and family near Paradise, and there are a lot of the DKos family there impacted by the fires. This diary in no way is meant to trivialise the horror of the loss of human, animal, and plant lives; the loss of livelihoods, communities, history, infrastructure.
The Camp Fire in Northern California has been raging since 8 November.
AQI in Chico is now 500.
On November 15, the numbers of firefighters and equipment employed in fighting the fire included 5,596 firefighters, 622 engines, 75 water tenders, 101 fire crews, 103 bulldozers and 24 helicopters from all over the US.
74 lives lost.
1,110+ people still missing.
9,700 homes destroyed.
But I am angry. I am seeing as how 45 demeans everyone and everything in any way he can to get a thrill, at his terrible tweets and comments for the last 2+ years and those stupid ones of today….so I’d like to be petty in my anger and point out that Gavin Newsom, the California Governor-elect is *ALSO* (AHEM) ….6’3’’ tall. If he’s that tall, why’s he leaning over 45 and why’s he … taller? Hmmm.
Assistance Call: Let’s show 45 *we* are bigger than he is too. Can we each donate a few dollars to help Besame get her to her goal of $10,000?

This diary by Belinda Ridgewood www.dailykos.com/… shares the link to Besame’s GoFundMe — one of the many people who have lost everything in this fire. I’ll contribute in the morning, and will post my receipt in the comments as it is 1.30 a.m. here.
Are there other DKos members who need help? Please share links and I will update.

Oh my gosh — wreck list? I am honoured. Just woke up so will read and comment now. Thanks all and good news — in the past 6 hours looks like over $1,000 more has been raised for Besame on her GoFundMe page, she’s at about 55% of her goal. :)
