Voters head to the polls in Georgia for a runoff election in the races for secretary of state and a seat on the Public Service Commission. Democrat John Barrow faces off against Republican Brad Raffensperger to succeed Gov.-elect Brian Kemp as secretary of state. Barrow is looking to become the first Democrat elected statewide in Georgia since Thurbert Baker was re-elected attorney general in 2006. Raffensperger narrowly won the first round of voting 49.2-48.6.
The race for Georgia Public Service Commissioner- District 3 (all spots on the five-member commission are elected statewide, even though each commissioner only represents a portion of the state) features incumbent Republican Chuck Eaton facing off against Democrat Lindy Miller. Eaton nearly avoided a runoff, winning 49.8-47.5 on Election Day.
