According to an article on CNBC, the Farm Bill, which may come to a vote within the next week or to, contains a provision that would remove marijuana from the list of controlled substances, which would be a catalyst for the allowing businesses to operate with the current risk of being busted by the federal government and allowing the stores to accept credit cards (which I understand some stores are not able to do now because banks will not deal with the businesses because of the elgal limbo in which they currently operate). I do not know what else is in the farm bill, but I consider this a definite step forward. Apparently, the idea is being helped along by southern republicans who think their states, who have grown tobacco, would be great for growing marijuana plants. Having Jeff Sessions gone helps, too.
