In WAYR?, I note what I’m reading and comment...you note what you are reading and comment. Occasionally, I may add a section or a link related to books…just a reminder that I would like to change the posting of this weekly series to Friday morning at 6:30 am beginning in the new year...I do have to get an official request to the RB&L editors, which i will be doing later on today.
Permanent reading list:
The Complete Essays by Michel de Montaigne- II.12- An apology for Raymond Sebond.
The Complete Sherlock Holmes Vol. 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle- The Hound of the Baskervilles.
I am reading:
We Can't Breathe: On Black Lives, White Lies, and the Art of Survival by Jabari Asim- A collection of essays about black life in America with the basic premise that ‘’the more things change...’’
Fear: Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward
Labyrinths of Iron by Benson Bobrick
Also, I have been reading and re-reading a couple of fascinating articles at the magazine Philosophy Now:, ‘’What Makes A Philosopher?’’ by Sibohan Lyons and ‘’Does Western Philosophy Have Egyptian Roots?” by Peter Fiegel. Leaving aside all of the Black Athena controversy, I think that the answer to Fiegel’s article depends on one’s definition of philosophy...or, it kinda depends on how you view Ms. Lyons’ question...still have to get to the Frankenstein stuff in the issue.
