The WW2 carrier USS Lexington is docked at Corpus Christi TX as a floating museum. The original “Lady Lex” carrier was sunk in 1942 at the Battle of the Coral Sea. Her replacement, known as “The Blue Ghost”, served in the later half of the war, and continued in service, mostly as a training ship, until she was retired in 1991.
