Cowardly, despicable and spineless are all characteristics that Paul Ryan have repeatedly lived up to and today was no different. Today, he attached a provision on the back of the 2018 Farm Bill, that ended any possibility of a debate on the war in Yemen for the year. Why? What does the U.S. get out of helping Saudi in this campaign? What does the U.S. get for helping a regime that recently killed a U.S. permanent resident?
You still think any Democrat is better than no Democrat? Five democrats helped him pass this bill. Why? Does any Congressman, any Senator, any Assemblyperson of any district have a constituency that they are serving by doing this? In other words, are these representatives getting phone calls from their voters telling them to continue killing people in Yemen? No. Then what is the point of Congress? As a member of the House of Representatives, you are representing the will of people and if your constituents do not support the bombardment of Yemen or are indifferent to it, the least you can do is debate on it. The provision included on the Farm Bill was not to end the support. It was simply to debate. Are we that inhumane and that arrogant as Americans that we cannot find a small glimpse of morality in us to debate on this? An issue that should not even be debated upon? Most importantly, where is the outrage about this on this site? On CNN? Is making assumptions and grasping at straws on the Mueller investigation, or the arrest of Michael Cohen more important than this?
America is broken. The ideas and principles America stood for is broken. Congress is broken, our priorities as a country has been distorted. It’s gonna take a lot longer than 2020 to fix this mess, from the bottom up. Thoughts and prayers. Good riddance Paul Ryan, may you never see the face of legislative office ever again.
